Heol Rhyd – Moving On Up

View across Wales from scaffolding, with eco-slate roof tiles

767 house and view

The Heol Rhyd project that we’ve been following closely continues to move on.
The roof has been completed using a range of flexible ‘Eco-Slate‘ tiles, which are manufactured from recycled materials making them an environmentally friendly choice. The full roof area was clad very quickly and without any worry of broken tiles!

The tiles are also waterproof and long-lasting, typically 50 years, although it’s worth noting the number of experienced installers is lower than that of traditional roofing tiles, so installation costs can sometimes be a little higher.

767 study

With the roof completed, and the house watertight, work has commenced on the plastering, electrics and plumbing.  The top-floor study has a wealth of power points for computers and various other hi-tech devices!

To quote Hollie, “this house is a beast..a roller coaster of a project” but with a fantastic team around them, the Gaze’s are getting there.  Can’t be long now until completion!
